I love your Pete! I've always sort of secretly shipped Ken and Pete and this story was EXACTLY what I could see happening. I loved the description of the lights and the water running sideways into his mouth...the part someone else quoted about "I had your baby and I gave it away" is haunting and so powerful. I don't think a day goes by Pete doesn't think about that conversation on some level...what a clever way to put it into a story.

And Trudy clutching the white bikini! That was so great!

Sigh. This was just SO SO GOOD, as always. <3

Oh man, thank you so much! I never saw the Pete/Ken potential until their lunch conversation in Season 4, when Ken pouted about Pete allegedly talking shit about him. I OTPeggy/Pete, and even if their lives never cross again (seems like that's where the show is heading, what with Peggy getting new love interests and being artsy), he'll never be as raw and open on the show as he was when he told the formerly mousy copywriter, "I love you."

Again, thank you for reading!

Oh, man. So much of the mm fic I've read doesn't have the intelligence of the show, the creative turns of phrases that have nothing to do with the perfect pitch. This was brilliant. Your Peter is probably the best I've ever seen, from the sheer (false, but not) domesticity to him rationalizing why he needed that.

“The line was, ‘Years from now, you’re going to regret not having destroyed more things.’”

Yeah, Pete, baby, that's so you. You just don't get it yet.

Aiee, what a tremendous compliment! I love Peter Bitchface Campbell and all his petty jealousies and crushing disappointments. I'm glad that you liked the line Ken quoted. Even genial golden boy Cosgrove can read Pete like a book. :)

YOU ARE WRITING A STORY ABOUT LEE GARNER JR. AND PETE. YOU CAN DO NO WRONG.

Aw Christ I have no idea what I'm going to do when Mad Men ends. I can't possibly find another fandom well this good again. :

trufax: "weak like Ken's chin" is going in my fannish repertoire.

pshh you are being too hard on yourself; i am sure that the fic will be wunderful, and besides I don't have your drawing talent at all. Which is probably a good thing, because if I could draw worth lima beans, I'd spend my days rendering Pete and probably Trudy in various positions of cock acceptance and then fap myself to death.

oh, and to be more selfish: YOU WROTE LEE GARNER JR. AND PETE GIMME GIMME GIMME.

Thank you so much! I sort of squinted around possible endings, but then I had this image of Peter waking up, disoriented, and opening his hand in the dark. It stuck with me.

P.S. And how cute are Ken and his fiance? I squealed when I realized that the two couples were having a social visit when Trudy's water broke.
