I finally read at Green Mill tonight! And people laughed at some of the funny parts and clapped and stuff at the end. No booing. I know there are things I can do to become a better performer. I had a bizarre thing happen today. Usually, when a magazine is launching a new issue their advertisement features a couple prominent poets from the new issue. I got an advertisement over facebook citing me. I think I grew up.

Am I wrong to be overly suspicious of unearned niceness from males? Is it possible for people to just be incredibly nice and generous with no strings attached?

I am now owner of something called a "Softie." It's similar to a Snuggie, but has zippers. I'm fairly certain this is a sign my Mom is coming to terms with not having grand children for a long time. I'm quite convinced it's a celibacy device, much like a chastity belt, but warmer ( Read more... )

1) For the first time in my life we have a fake tree. Apparently this is my Dad's doing. My mom is inconsolable. The house doesn't smell like Christmas. I have no idea what to do next year. I like chicago. I can't put myself through another year of this job. I can't apply to grad school yet due to obstacles of time and money. I've never not had a plan before.
