So the question I am faced with is this, if you could take a sales internship that made on average $8,500 for 2 weeks work would you? Even if that meant you had to spend the entire summer hundreds of miles away from your friends and family? Working 6 days a week, for an upwards of 75 hours a week?

Um. yes. I'm working 5 to 6 day workweeks far away from all my friends for 5 months. 2 weeks is nothing. And I make a grand total of $1500. You do the math.

Or even for the entire summer. I worked for free for the entire summer about 3000 miles away from anybody I knew...And it was at least 10 hour work days, not counting if you had to feed animals at 4am and midnite. Live your life, don't do something because there could be loneliness involved. Otherwise you will be staying in one place your whole life, without trying new things or branching out.
