It's a VERY BORING day...
So I'm totally behind on getting my pics from the last Kane show up... And it's almost time for the next one, I know, I know! I procrastinate. I also am behind on getting my newest Fiber pics up... I haven't done that much in the past month or so. Right now I am working on finishing up an afghan for Warm Up America. The squares were donated to the store I work at, but we don't have the payroll for someone to join them at work and no one was willing to join them on their own time. It was kinda sad actually, it's for charity for krypes-sake! Oh well, I've almost got the first one finished, just have to sew three more strips on and then work some sort of border around it to finish it off. I haven't worked on my nephew's hoodie in forever. I have everything finished but half of the hood and haven't touched it in 2 months... In my own defense, I have to wait to get the pattern book from the library again! I am working on a panel afghan that will be my aunt's Christmas present. She has been complaining that everyone else has gotten an afghan but her. Which is totally not true! My mom, my dad and both my grandpas are the only ones who have received afghans from me. I'm too lazy to make full-sized afghans for just anyone :P But her's will be 3 different shades of pink and will be done in my absolute favorite afghan pattern. It's comprised of 7 panels, 4 "garter" stitch panels that are 20 sts wide and 3 cable panels that are 41 sts wide. They are each about the length of a scarf and if I work on them steadily it only takes me a few nights of Primetime TV to finish a panel. But now that PrimeTime has finaled and TNT's shows haven't started yet I don't know what I'm gonna watch. Yes I said TNT not just Leverage. Granted Leverage is my absolute favorite, but I really like the majority of TNT's summer shows. The Closer, Rizzolli & Isles, Memphis Beat, Hawthorne, etc etc.
I am also in the middle of redecorating my bathroom. I got a cat back in Oct and since I have dogs, the cat took up residence in the bathroom. She is out in the house during the day with us, but her food and litter box, especially, are in the bathroom to keep the dogs from getting into them. So, with her domain being the bathroom she has forced me to re-evaluate having things on my counter. She keeps knocking EVERYTHING to the floor and then shoving anything that will fit under the door into my hallway. My bathroom is done in Purple, Gold & White. UW Huskie colors :D Yep, I'm a fanatic! So I found some white initial hooks that I was able to spell out DAWGS with and have made up some purple/gold bags to hang on them. They took care of most of the stuff off the counter - makeup, tooth brush, tooth paste, hair ties/bands, soap, etc. I also got purple command hooks to go in between each hook just to give myself a little extra space. I found some Huskie decals at the local Walmart so those are my next thing to go up. We have relatives coming in for a few days next month and since my bathroom is also the "public" bathroom I have to make sure it's nice and pretty before then :) My next step is to start redoing my "guest" room. It will actually be turned into a bedroom for my niece and nephew since they are here every weekend. Right now they stay in my parent's room and have all their clothes in plastic tubs behind my couch. Yeah I may be a little behind... But the bedroom is going to be a lot more work. Both of my brothers have lived with me after they each divorced their respective wives and they brought all their crap with them. When they moved out only about 1/8th of their crap went with them and the rest is still here. :( I am also trying to get rid of a storage unit that costs me WAY too much money each month and since I have a storage shed on my property you wouldn't think that it would be that difficult, NO, it's not that simple! Again my shed is filled with all my brothers crap! The bedroom though is turning from a computer room back into a bedroom. The computer will be spliced together with my old desktop and turned into a play computer for "my" kids :) The computer stand, which is HEAVY as all hell, and didn't really survive the move from OR that well, will be headed to the dump. The stand tweaked when we moved it and now NONE of the doors close properly, the drawers only open halfway, yeah, it's pretty bad. It's also 5' wide and 4' deep so it'll empty out a lot of space. They kids will each have their very own dresser, which my little clothes hound Sav is extremely excited about. The only thing that I'm not doing that they want me to is paint the walls a different color. I don't have the energy to do that. I have to paint my house this summer, so says my landlord, the wicked bitch, so yeah, not gonna paint the bedroom. Actually the only room in the house that has been painted since I moved in is my bedroom. A very nice lilac color which goes with my purple/light purple theme. Yeah, UW kinda bleeds into every aspect of my life :D
Anyways, I'm installing a new HD in Mama's laptop so I have time to sit here and ramble while I wait for Windows to install. Yeah, her 5 month old laptop had a HD crash. When we called HP about it, they knew right away, apparently it is a common problem with the model she got. They were really nice about it and over-nighted a new HD to us. Thankfully, since I am the one who does all the upkeep on the comps, all the pictures/music/non-replaceable files are on my comp. All she had on her's was her slot games and FaceBook :P Yup, Mama is totally NOT technology savvy. Think Gibbs from NCIS :) When she wants pictures put on her FB she has me do it. In order for her to even get on FB I had to bookmark FB and then set it so FireFox remembered her password so all she has to do is click, nothing to type. I love my Mama! She can get to anything on the web... As long as it's in her bookmarks!
Well, Windows is almost finished and while I have the screwdrivers out I think I need to look at the kids DVD player and see what they shoved in there to make it not work... Gotta love children and electronics! I will hopefully have both sets of pics up Mon or Tues, since those are my days off and I will have some extra time. Until then...
