Ick!

I think I'm going to give up on risotto.  The texture just makes me gag.   I even tried making it in my shiny new rice cooker.  It cooked the rice to a nice finish but ew.  It made a huge mess - spitting liquid everywhere.  And did I mention the texture?  I'm 100% positive that I made it correctly I just failed to realize that risotto is that ( Read more... )

I make the lipton, uncle bens side dish rices in my rice cooker. works well and I get some variety. Like long grain, wild rice with garlic or chicken or just herbs.

I'll herb up the long grain. We usually tend to have it with curried pork so plain works. I'll probably steam more veggies as well.
