Pairing: Scripps/Dakin

Notes: Quick ficlet for my Lee based off a prompt she gave me months ago. On a subject near and dear to my heart.
Scripps couldn’t help smirking into the pillow as he threw one arm across Dakin, feeling him practically fucking vibrate beside him.
“Will you admit now that maybe you should have stopped after your second espresso?”
In the dark of the room, he could just make out Stu’s scowl.
“And that maybe you should have listened to me before when I told you to stop?”
“Piss off.” Dakin hissed. “I’m fucked now. All night up preparing for an exam I’ll be too fucking knackered to write? Shit. Shit.”
Scripps grinned. “And now I’m left with you all twitchy, keeping me up all night as well.”
Dakin huffed out an aggravated sigh and threw the covers off. “I’ll go back to mine then,” he said, throwing his legs over the side of the bed, the cold air rushing in to replace the warmth of Dakin’s body, to which Scripps was only starting to admit that he was growing accustomed.
Scripps caught the hem of his shirt between his fingers and curled a tight first around it, giving an insistent tug until Dakin looked back at him, dark eyes with dark circles, and eventually crawled back into the small bed.
Scripps rested his head on the pillow beside Dakin’s and whispered, “I never said I minded.” He laid his palm on Dakin’s chest, feeling the too-fast beating of his heart beneath the frustrated rise and fall of his ribcage. Dakin watched him with heavy-lidded eyes that couldn’t quite close, wrapped trembling fingers around Scripps’s, and waited for the morning to come.
