I've been lurking fail_fandomanon for a couple of months now, which is the only reason I've heard about sherlockbbc, but from what I've heard, it really hasn't been good. Congrats on the new mods! :D

It was pretty bad, yeah. I was only aware of part of it until about two days ago, and what I've read in the time since - well, it's been really ugly. I knew they were incredibly rude and had driven away a huge proportion of their membership, including me, but I wasn't aware of exactly how far they were actually going.

So it's an fantastic change all-around; lots of people are being thankful to awesome for stepping in. :D

Neither was I! One minute I was thinking we'd never get a way out of this without massive wank, and the next we had shiny new mods.

If something can be done to reverse some of the ridiculous rules they've got set up, it will already be an improvement. (WARNINGS FOR SLASH. WTF.)

I'm rather amused by the now ex-mods' insistence that the comm will crash and burn now. The comm as whole seems pretty glad to let them go, so I guess this whole thing was actually better-advertised than we thought, and more people than was assumed were tired of their demands and childishness.

I had no idea as many people had left the comm as I now realize have, and now I'm paranoid I've been missing all kinds of amazing fic! It's super sad that that's been splintering fandom.

Tbh, I hadn't even realized that I hadn't posted anything there since January, and I didn't know so many amazing writers and artists had stopped as well - I usually go by holmesian_news. The comm's been a mess for so long, it's going to be funny getting used to going there once more.

robin is pretty awesome even without the username and incredibly chill--though i'm not sure she'll be sticking around on lj beyond the transition. bluebellanon is pretty cool from what i've seen of her on the kinkmeme :D and evitably apparently has experience modding huge comms so i think that this team is a go <3

bluebellanon comes from the kinkmeme and the rant post and is therefore pretty rad, in my experience. I'm thankful we get such wonderful new mods, tbh, rather than total strangers. ♥

haha kasdlfs i was actually a bit terrified of attaching my username to discussions that could blow up in epic wank but i figured if robin was forced to go unanon, i might as well as show solidarity and throw my name in with hers. i also had to laugh at one of the anons who was like "well if you're no longer invested in this fandom any more..." because that is the complete opposite of what she is--she just doesn't do it here on lj.

i'm not sure bluebell still frequents the rant post since i haven't seen her unanon for a while but yesss i love the familiarity and the reassurance that we have a set of mods who are unlikely to go crazy on us <3333

Yeah, I'm really glad this turned out relatively easy for her to deal with, so that there was no terrible fallout on anyone. The ex-mods could have made this really difficult for a lot of people, but this feels a lot like we're all collectively turning over a new leaf. Good on you for sticking to your (and her) guns!

(Wellll, to be fair, very few people unanon on the rant post, even the mods. I'm pretty sure bluebell's still around; I seem to remember talking to her a while back.)
