So, I. Am leaving for London tomorrow morning.

It's going to be a strange thing, being away from Paris for so many months - I'm desperately excited and utterly terrified at the same time, which doesn't help with all the packing that's currently going on; my room looks like it's gone through a hurricane.

On the plus side, though, SHAKESPEARE AND ( Read more... )

Have fun in our bonkers country! Drink ALL the tea, see ALL the plays, and make despairing faces at the state of British daytime telly! I'm going to London in the half-term to meet up with some friends, which should be a fun nostalgia trip.

Also, I feel obliged to inform you that one of my friends says that getting into King's would be a dream come true for him - it's a fantastic university and you should feel awesome :D

I've been here a week and have survived so far. :D

SO MANY PLAYS TO SEE THOUGH I've managed to catch one of the veeeery last performances of the Shrew at the Globe, and The National Theatre's programme is intriguing, and I'm probably going to scrounge up the money to go see Wicked at some point. (I'm rather hoping it won't rain all year the way it does today, but it's kind of a false hope, isn't it?)

As for King's, classes don't start until next week, which is good, since it's giving me some time to adapt - but it seems pretty fantastic, yeah. I'm lucky to have gotten in.

The weather has definitely got worse over the last few years and we don't really have proper summers any more - my poor brother is just young enough to not remember the days when you could reasonably expect some nice weather during the summer months :/ The south-east tends to be drier than the west (where I am, boo), so you probably won't get as much rain as I do if that's any comfort :D Summer in Britain is generally May-June, becomes cold and rainy for July & August to mock people on their holidays, but we generally get pretty nice Septembers - last year there was heat and sun until the end of October!

Ooh, Wicked. My best friend and I were planning to go see it some time, if we can scrounge up the money. Have fun if you manage to go :)
