I really like this! Espcially the parallels between Posner and Dakin (I'm hearing Scripps say "You're beginning to write like him" in my head), Scripps' feelings on both of them and their stories, and the description of how Posner felt to Scripps when they kissed.

The only thing that puzzled me a bit was the time frame - I assumed that it was supposed to take place sometime in the middle of the movie, before Dakin and Fiona had sex, at least, and before Hector's death - but then the quote about what Scripps is jealous of comes just at the end of term, so that confused me.

Scripps is just a good listener. With occasional smart-ass commentary. Which is the best kind of listener there is.

The three scenes are supposed to take place at different times throughout the term, but you're right: even if I had made that clearer, the last one makes things a bit wonky (I'm giving the impression that they're still in school, yet by that line from Scripps, it's after they've gotten their acceptances, presumably after the term has ended), and I hadn't really noticed it before. I'll have to take a look at that and revise a bit. Thanks so much for pointing it out!

And thanks for reading!

I'm off to work so I can't comment at the length I would like, but I very much enjoyed this. Particularly how leisurely and unforced it feels, even though it's short and focused. There's a good balance between the familiar relaxation or familiarity rather, between them all, so that a stray comment like Dakin's about Pos never having done anything, at all, really stands out like the sharp point of a stick. It feels very - possible - which I think can be hard to do with Scripps, given his position on the sidelines - in a manner of speaking. I liked that there's movement forward with him, enough to - just - try - it, without it falling over the edge. He maintains his dry sense of humour too. Very, very nice. Well, I guess I did end up commenting at length. Welcome.

Oh I adore you just because you think it's possible. That's all I'm ever really aiming for in writing, just some ounce of believability.

Thank you so much for your kind comments!

(Hope I didn't make you late for work! Oh to count the times that's happened to me....)

I love this. Your characters are spot-on, your dialogue is so Bennettesque it hurts, when Dakin comes in (which I always feel he has to with this pairing, just because he's there between them otherwise, conspicuous by his absence) the way the three of them fit together is portrayed just perfectly, and oh, just so much else to love about it. Well done! =]

Oh man, thank you! So much! Dakin's part of the package. I can't write Scripps and Posner without one of them referring to him. He's just, well, one of those people.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for reading!

I'll try! But NaNoWriMo looms around the corner, so I make no promises.

I'm glad you liked it!
