I really don't understand why people are making AFI's new album "Crash Love" as something to be ashamed of. They're running a full album preview on their myspace and I can honestly say that I cannot wait to have this album in my hands. But seriously, I totally agree with you. Or I hate it when you like music from one type of genre mostly, and when people find out you listen to an artist or two from another genre, they put you down for it. Like, you know I listen to a lot of rock-ish things, usually a bit on the "fringe" side, but when people find out that Christina Aguilera is one of my ultimate favorite artists, or that I have 3 Britney Spears albums on my iTunes, all of a sudden I don't "really" like the rock-ish stuff. People are allowed to like what they like, and anything thing they like. Make fun of the bands, not the people who enjoy them, imo.

It's a simple matter that people cannot stand change. If something is no longer what they are used to, they aren't going to give it a chance, as they are set in their ways.

They can say it's not AFI all they want, but if they really payed attention, they would be able to notice that AFI has change DRASTICALLY from their first album, to this one... hell, exclude this one if you wish.

Also, if they really payed attention (and don't take this the wrong way, but AFI has been "Mainstream" for quite a while now. Some people need to look up what that term means.

Also, with people who cannot stand people liking things they don't... This has been happening since civilization beginning. Let them mope and pout how you're not like them, and enjoy what you like. After all, they're the ones suffering by continuing to piss and moan. :)
