lol Somehow this post doesn't surprise me at all, 'specially after hanging out with you and Z while Z was 'boosting.' I'd consider myself an Explorer, only because I'm delighted when I get an achievement, but I don't read about them ahead of time so I know how to get them. I'd rather be surprised, and I'm not likely going to go out of my way to get more difficult ones.
I'd say you're pretty spot on in your categorizing of the others. ^^
I'd say for the most part, I'm achievement neutral. While I enjoy games, there are few of them that I care enough about to do "fiddly stuff" with. Perhaps my attitude would change if I was on xbox-live and had achievements recorded, but but I don't get enough personal satisfaction to bother pursuing them.
On a good enough game, though (Ratchet & Clank, Star Ocean: Until the End of Time), I'll move up into Aficionado. I won't look them up for a first playthrough, but if I still "want more" of the game, I'll dig up the achievement list and see what I can accomplish.
Cool list! I'm definitely Neutral, or would be if I had a system featuring such things. But I could see going to the Aficionado level on something really good, though more to milk a Completion out of it for Backloggery purposes than anything. (I almost said "more... than gamer score," but really, Backlog percentages are just another flavor of the same thing!)
