The thing about Street Fighter 3 is that parries ALONE prevent fireball spam. Also, the speed at which you can toss them out, the speed at which you recover after using them, and the speed at which they travel is all slower compared to SF4, making them only useful in very specific situations. I'm not saying that moves wouldn't get spammed at all - I'm sure you'd end up with the same flowchart Ken problems - but if you can predict your opponent in SF3, you're going to demolish them, (more or less) end of story. Sometimes in SF4, I predict their movements, but there's still very little I can do about it. I seriously set a training mode Blanka to repeatedly EX Blanka Ball followed by Heavy back-balls, and tried finding any way I could to counter him (as Sakura). There's surprisingly little I could come up with for the Blanka Balls, outside of a split-second timing punch just before he hits. From what I can gather without having the frame data on-hand, it's safe on block and pushes him back far enough that you can't throw him before he ( ... )

Also, in regards to the music: I'd say that the 10% of the music that isn't terrible generally the character themes. I like the theme for Vega, C.Viper, and Abel, notably. But most of the other character themes were just plain outdone in HD Remix, whose soundtrack you can download for free. In fact, I've just got my computer on the same network as my 360 so I can just play the HD Remix soundtrack while playing SF4.

Windows Media Center? Good way to save memory on your HDD as well. I was wondering about the HD Remix tracks and I'm surprised I didn't try to go out and find them--Once I get them, I'll roll them up with the good SF4 tracks and maybe some Tekken/Guilty Gear oldies and make a power mix~oh what the hell, I'll throw some Symphony of the Night in there too ( ... )

Oh, and I did enjoy seeing that Ryu kick the crap out of Sagat. I think that video is a good example of a 'zoning' character like Ryu being used like a pit bull, with full aggression, against a turtle heavy Sagat player. I'm going to have to watch that again to see how he got inside...
