So I have friends telling me I'm getting a lot of stuff done, but I'm currently battling the onset of some major holiday anxiety/depression, so I feel like I haven't accomplished anything. Hopefully I'll feel better after completing this.
Oh yes, we have a fall wedding: November 14, 2009. Colors are Chocolate, Cream, and Lavender.
First, the venue, which I have not yet taken pictures of. A friend of FILs is hosting us at his amazing house on the Saluda River in Comlumbia, SC. His yard runs right down to the riverside where he's going to be having a small dock (which I have not decided if we will use or not), and it's all surrounded with beautiful tall (I think) oak trees. My fiance is majorly into white water kayaking, and the river is his second home, so our venue is extremely appropriate :)
Other awesome venue related news is that our host will let me use his downstairs apartment (did I mention his house is HUGE?) to get ready in, he has a major wireless speaker system set up, and has absolutely no problem with us using his electricity. His driveway is really steep and has limited parking, so I'm trying to get into contact with the city about who owns a parking lot a quarter mile from his house. If they ever return my phone call and I can use it, I'm going to rent a golf cart (Palmetto Kustom Kartz) to the tune of $125 for the day and have FH's cousin shuttle them.
I have a dress and it is lovely. Moonlight Bridal.. cannot remember style number. It's shipping March 20th.
Giant Head Shot
Boob Shot
With veil upon which I am undecided.
For hair, I'm thinking something like this:
with face frame because lopsided widows peaks are harrrd
or this:
but more hair down.
I can't decide about veils. I love veil pictures, but just not the fluffy ones. maybe a single layer something pretty would work. I want a hair vine, as well, so maybe I'll do veil for the ceremony and just take it off to show off my fabulous hair vine and potential hair flower. We'll see :)
Got my shoes today. I talked to my photographer and I just was having trouble with my awesome sense of style and tennis calves conflicting with flat shoes, so I ordered these:
for ceremony and other tom-footery
and these:
specifically for the picture I demand of my out of focus Fh being shot between my legs with my skirt held up a la this awesome picture from my fab photographer:
My mom is getting this dress from David's Bridal.
Speaking of fab photographers,
Tomme Hiltonwill be shooting our wedding, and since I booked her, I've gotten to know her a good deal, and she's going to be doing our engagement pics for free in March!
Catering is going be done by
Shealy's BBQ which is hands down awesome BBQ. At 10.25 a head, I can't complain!
Cake inspiration is the first three layers of this:
If you haven't picked up on it yet, we're going a little woodsy on you :)
Flowers! This is the only thing I feel like I've accomplished. I've spoken with one florist and have an appointment to meet with another. I was originally going to DIY silks, but that just was too daunting of a task once I actually went to the craft store, and I really want a dried bouquet anyway. So!
My bouquet is:
the style of this
the color of this
and the branches of this.
BM's bouquets will be a little smaller (6-8 inches compared to my 11 inches) and have more white in them.
BM dresses haven't been selected yet, but something chocolate with cream accent or just chocolate.
Centerpieces will be a bit of this:
but since our shindig is daytime, it won't be quite so shady
with mason jars, two candles, and one with flowers, like this:
Will have these with lavender daisies down the aisle
Menfolk in the FH's family don't dig flowers, and it's enough for me that he's wearing a suit, so no bouts, and I'm going to make my mom corsages DIY, because $20 for a corsage is just mindless to me.
These are our not done yet but mock up via Photoshop STDs:
I've done a bit more centering and cropping on them since this version, but they're on another computer.
mock up invite that would be on cream paper.
It's not nice to stalk :)
I'm going to do the invites in chocolate pocket folds with the cream invite set on thin burlap to give it some texture, and have them tied closed with cream and lavender ribbon, sort of similar to the ribbon that'll be around the mason jars.
and last but not least, these will be our favors/place cards
Made with real river rocks! Straight from the river. Lovely that it'll only cost the paint :)
And our honeymoon options, I'm just going to copy/paste from the e-mail I sent FH, because he refuses to make decisions.
http://www.hotspringslogcabins.com/ http://www.sundayriver.com http://www.nchotsprings.com/ http://www.killington.com/winter/plan/vacation_packages/active.html http://www.dillardhouse.com/ the ski trips would obviously be more pricey, and it'd be early ski season, but I'd love to be able to go up to Maine. The other hindering factor is FH's refusal to fly. So it's road trip wherever we go. Maine in 18.5 hours isn't too bad for us, but colorado in 28 doesn't work :)
I feel like I still have a ton of work to do. Thanks for tuning in :)
