~From the start~
From that first battle in the war, Edward knew he'd never be the same. The innocence left over from his journey shattered into glittering shards in his hands. The blood that ran down his automail hardened his heart and prepared him for the days to come. Edward walled off his heart and boldly stepped forward when they gave him a postion of authority. But deep down he wanted to forget it all. The blood that stained his uniform and the pain he felt everytime he stared at the worn soldiers in his command. God damn did he hate this war.

~Betrayal~
Roy had promised to protect him the day he had held out that silver watch. He'd promised so many things with that glided tongue of his. But they were lies, sweet and beautiful lies to make him believe. For a time Edward believed him and trusted him however begrudgingly. But the moment the colonel told King Bradley his deepest secret that deadly thing that made him the military's property and not its soldier...Edward Elric stopped believing. As the labs turned him into their weapon and tore away his very identity and made him a number that trust died a dog's death.
