Oooh, this was lovely! Especially the little things like Charles' obsession with Lynch and how everyone grew apart and all the details you added in the scene with Alice doing laps in the community pool. I'm such a sucker for selective capitalization so I loved everything about Something That Happens to Me and You and Us. This was the best!

I FEEL LIKE I MIGHT BURST. This is perfect! I love how everything that happened was just swept under the rug and people moved on and they grew up - and yet there's still that "what if?" lingering between Alice and Joe. And when they finally kissed, it all makes sense because it's something that couldn't happen before. They needed that distance to know whether what they had was just That Summer (I love your use of caps) or something more.

The details in your writing, as always, are exquisite.

I'd say this is the best Super 8 fic I've ever read, but there aren't quite enough out there for me to say that, so I'll just say that this is the best Super 8 fic I ever will read.

In all seriousness, though, there are, like... literally no words in my head that come even vaguely close to describing how absolutely brilliant this is. Like, it's stories like this that make me realize I have so much left to learn about writing even though I've been studying it for years. You really have a gift.
