So my fingers hurt. Wiring that chandelier was lots of twisting, soldering, pulling, pushing and other dexterious activities. They are a little raw at the moment. My callouses were worn through it seems.
It was a simple matter of framing the shot, (Which was hard, shooting with my left hand on a right handed camera,) with the horizon line just below center, and the focal point above the horizon. By keeping the horizon line and the darker background below center, I guide your eye to the brighter spots in the picture. Choosing on an f stop, starting at f3.5, then deciding that was too shallow and increasing to f5.6, while adjusting the shutter speed. Also setting the white balance to 4800°K, so as to appear slightly cooler, to increase the cool feeling I also desaturated my image about 20%. I increased my darkest black, deepening the shadows, and I added contrast, further exaggerating my thumbprint. I chose to increase vignetting and burn down the corners. I felt a square crop was appropriate for this image.
