Wow, you chose such gorgeous pictures, and your icon is lovely! I'm not snagging any music because my sister has it all, but I'm listening to "More Than a Woman" before heading off to work.
Dude, who doesn't love the choreography in "Are You That Somebody?" I used to wanna learn it so badly, but I don't have much rhythm or coordination so that would be disrespectful to Aaliyah's memory! :P
it brought back my fondest memories of her from my teens and early 20s. she and the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes were such icons to me at that point in my life.
the albums, the videos, you hit on all points with her bests. it took a while for me to listen to her music again after she passed because the way that she did was too similar to a couple of friends in January of the same year.
what else can I do except thank you for remembering her as I do, which is how she would've liked being remembered.
(I found you via cerberusk's LJ, hope you didn't mind. :)
(course I don't mind! just glad you enjoyed the aaliyah tribute!)
Really, there's no need to thank me. Aaliyah's life speaks for itself--I just like putting a speakerphone to it once in a while. ;)
I love and adore both Aaliyah and Left Eye, who providing something unique and sincere to music unlike other "artists." It's always great to find others who recognize either one for their talents.
Thanks so much for just giving Aaliyah the mad props she deserves. :)
