my boy.

I just recently realised how long it's been since I sat down and wrote about something at length, which is shameful, because I'm going back to school in almost exactly a month, and also because I think I'd like to write more professionally, too, eventually. So!:

harry potter 7B / harry potter feelings in general )

movies (2011), movie: harry potter (7), .overemotional oops

I love everything you said about Harry. I've always really loved him, but all I ever hear anyone else say is "he so self-absorbed", even though I'm like "he's the boy who lived! If anybody has a right to think about themselves, it's him!" It's nice to know I'm not the only Harry fan.

I want to marry this post, ftr. (And, oh, this is Meg/betternovembers from tumblr, because you probably have no clue who this is otherwise).

Harry James Potter/Dan Radcliffe, man. This movie was a love song to the man Harry became, and we had a lot of very similar issues with the film, but I can really overlook most of them just because of how perfect Harry was in this.

I think I've lost the ability to write rationally about my feelings on this anymore, plus I pretty much agree with you 100% so I'll just go away now :)

You know, for the longest time I never really understood Harry Potter the Person (and hee I love that tag!), but reading everyone's thoughts on him as gotten me to a place where I think I finally do. And I'm so glad.

He's only a child, you know. except everyone forgets he never really has been.

MOST BRILLIANT SENTENCE. I WANT TO MARRY IT.

I would also like to wed your entire Snape paragraph because I thought I was the only one who wasn't entirely enamoured with Alan Rickman's performance. There were so great moments, especially in the quieter bits, but some of it felt ham-fisted. I do like Snape the character, but I feel like fandom does it wrong in that they cannot reconcile Snape the Asshole with Snape the Tragic Hero (in that... they forget about Snape the Asshole the minute they finish "The Prince's Tale". NO. I think part of his tragedy is his assholery but I digress).

That is absolutely AMAZING that they offered all eight films in a row, and even more amazing that you did it. How did you stay awake?!?!

With you on liking R/Hr much more in the films than in the books.

because it had to do with him getting it, getting her, and in the movie we got "oh he does listen to me!"

Yes, yes, yes! So many R/Hr fans are up in arms over the lack of the house elf scene, but I just ... IDK. I feel like that was the most obvious thing Ron could've said and it didn't demonstrate that he knew her at all. I mean, seriously, the girl's only been ranting about house elves since fourth year. The relationship was much more subtle in the films, and consequently Ron's comments demonstrated that he finally understood her and valued what she had to say. I can't lie, I smiled when they kissed.

I don't even know what to say about Harry/Hermione except AKLSJLKADJ. Which is pathetic, but that is what those two do to me. And it was so perfectly Hermione, as you said, and then Emma's acting ... ugh. Killed me.
