Title: Clam-picking
Pairing: 2Ji, Skydragon
Rating: PG
Summary: A little country bumpkin missing her home.
Song(s) used for inspiration: Eternal Morning: Tablo + Pe2ny - White

Minji stretched her hands out towards the sky, standing on the small beach. The day was starting and everybody was asleep, but an anxious feeling in her stomach told her to wake up and appreciate where she was, so she decided to go on a walk before anybody awoke.

She was home. Truly and utterly home. She could breath, and jump, and be herself. Something she couldn't do within the small confines of the entertainment industry. There she had to dress a certain way and eat a certain way and live a certain way.

Day after day it was the same routine. Wake up, Minji, get dressed, Minji, get in the car, Minji!

She missed life. She missed the act of living without a care. She missed the childhood she never had, because she had always loved dancing. She missed her grandmother and her family and her friends.

Now she was reduced to living with complete strangers, who had no relation to her at all. Two of them were double her age, and one of them had their head so far in the clouds that they were oblivious to those around her. Especially the younger one that craved hugs and snuggling with an older, slightly more mature unnie.

Chaerin was her favorite from the group. Bom cared and comforted her when she needed to be comforted most, but Bom was Bom and worried more about her lips than anything. Dara was too busy trying to be cute or dorky or some shit Minji couldn't understand. Chaerin was strange, but somebody Minji looked up to. She was in her own world and did whatever she wanted to do. She was unconventional and proud of it.

Minji wanted to be that happy at least for a moment in her lifetime.

The only thing that made her dislike Chaerin was her relationship with Jiyong.

Minji closed her eyes at the thought and breathed in the scent of the salty air, appreciating every gust of wind that blew her way and made her feel as if she was about to fly off into Neverland. The sound of the ocean lulling on in the background made her wonder what it would feel to lose herself amongst the waves, but she knew better than to do that.

She knew better than to get lost in the life of Kwon Jiyong, her much older and beloved oppa. Sure she was 16 and he was 21, but she couldn't help being infatuated in the charisma that was GD.

Brad Pitt? Minji was growing tired of that lie.

The little country girl caught up in the boy - now a man, but it was weird for Minji to acknowledge that - who always gave 110% in everything he did. Although he looked at her only as a cute pet, she quietly let her feelings grow into something that she knew would get her into trouble.

She sighed.

This was a break that Minji much needed. Roaming around wherever she wanted to without a care, her mind cleared itself of anything unneeded problems or teenage crises. Amongst the sand and nothingness, her world melted into a mix of blues and browns, in a way that made everything beautiful and dull. She was going to yearn for this when she had to go back, but for now she decided to ignore everything and bury herself in the present.

Your name is Minji. You are young and you are wonderful. Life shouldn't be complicated, okay? Do your best and always remember that hard work will pay off. Take care of yourself. Grandma will miss you, so make sure she can watch you on TV from time to time. When you visit we can go clam-picking.

The note felt heavy in her pocket.
