Today in Montgomery Village, our primary election day, has been miserable. Morning temperatures did not rise above 25 degrees and the wind made it feel more like 15. Finally, I have gotten up the courage to start exercising again. I began water aerobics yesterday and will be going four days a week for an hour a day. If I can stick to the regimin, I will gain weight and lower my body fat ratio. Why is it that employers love to fire employees just before Christmas. I realize it coincides with the end of the fiscal year for many of them, but still it seems to me like the cruelest time to fire or lay off workers. Yesterday I experienced the second scariest thing I have ever had in an automobile. I had gone into DC to attend a bridal shower. As I was arriving at a location I noticed an available parking place (very rare in DC). Last night I got back from Sacramento where I went to see Tiggrrl, Misha and my 22 month old granddaughter, who we all call The Girl. Anyway The Girl is quite a pistol. Last week my husband and I returned from a trip to Cody, WY. it was our first vacation together in four years. We went there because he loves to see the wild animals and drive through Yellowstone and the beautiful Chief Joseph Highway. My granddaughter Emi (18 months now) lives with her parents in Sacramento. I wish I could see her more often. I was there for her birth and about two weeks following it.
