I just finished reading this book and omg i absolutly loved it.There's this feeling in my chest something short of euphoric that can really only come with reading a profound book, something i havent felt since reading the Silmarillion for the first time. I love Liir and I dont care who knows it. I may even dress up like him for Halloween. I am in

And guess what class I have next semester at my college? Myth and Tolkien! I am so excited. Now I wont be considered weird for knowing the seven sons of Feanor...just...ahead! :p I cant wait to see what books we're reading...although I'm kind of hoping we dont have to read the whole trilogy...I'd prefer reading some of his other stuff.

well the title of the post is supposed to be the title of the book but in any case it's Son of a Witch by Gregory maguire. It's about Elphaba's (the wicked witch of the west)son. Its a sequel to another book he wrote called Wicked: the Life and time of the Wicked witch of the west. Facsinating story i truly reccomend it.

Myth and Tolkien that sounds awesome. though it sounds to me that you will be analyzing germanic and classical myths and applying them to the stories in Tolkien. It would be great to see if you do some sort of in depth analysis of the Silmarillion. Tell me how the class goes, i would love to live vicariously lol

Oooh, I have heard good things about Wicked. I'll have to pick both of them up some time. ^^
