Oh, funny story of when I was playing Ep.1! I was at the part where the golden butterflies appear before Kanon after finding Kinzo's corpse... and out of the corner of my eye in my room, I see a wing fluttering, just out of sight. I'm not imagining it, either. Starting to feel a little uneasy, I turn slowly, and see a huge moth has invaded my room, and is dancingly fluttering around the lightbulbs in the ceiling, as moths are prone to do. But as one can imagine, to me who had just been reading about golden butterflies wisping into the darkness in throes of uneasiness moments ago on the screen, upon seeing the moth bathed in the lightbulb's fluorecent light, and looking a... deceivingly golden hue, I freaked out (the fact it was around 2:00 am didn't help, either!) and sprinted out of the room in a panicked state. It was only after I calmed down enough to peek back in that I was able to regain my composure lol ( ... )

FEAR THE BUTTERFLIES, THEY ARE EVIL. XD Wow, what a weird coincidence. I would've been freaked out too, especially that late at night. Funny how things that don't scare me at all during the day freak me out during the night.

I remember you telling me about Ep 2's ending. I've been trying to mentally prepare myself for it, whatever it is that happens. XD; It must be really freaking disturbing for you to consider to stop reading.

Yeah, I've already seen a bit of Kanon/Jessica in Ep 2. They look like they'll make a super adorable couple as well, if Kanon would just get over the "I am furniture" thing. And if Natsuhi would stop being a jerk.

XD; I'll go as fast as I can! But school always gets in the way!

And I will read the manga. :D I've seen a couple scans from it; the art looks good. (Speaking of art, I was rather surprised when I saw the artstyle in the VN. It was...not quite as professional looking as I was expecting. XD; But I got used to it quickly.)

Umineko is EXCELLENT at creating atmosphere, if anything. The sound effect that happens when the butterflies appear is just so EERIE. And when they do effects like Beato's portrait flashing before Kanon right before he's stake-stabbed, that was good timing. It adds so much, because, as you said, Umineko VN art is, well, less than satisfactory, but I guess that's because it's a doujin game, and there's no company behind it. A trade-off for the awesome story, I suppose!
