Camera..

I'm planning on getting a digital camera for my birthday. Now, I already have a FujiFilm FinePix S5000, but I want something I can carry around in my purse so that I don't miss any photo ops where I didn't happen to pack my larger camera

Probably completely irrelevant, but we had the first incarnation of the Nikon CoolPix waaay back when and it was an amazing camera.

Moral of the Story: Nikon goooood.

I LOVE my Nikon Coolpix 4500. I've taken about 11,000 photos with it over the years, and even though I want to upgrade the 4.0 megapixels and 4x zoom, I refuse to compromise the quality.

I bought a Nikon Coolpix P50 when we were in Japan, and I'm loving it. I'm very much a point and click kind of photographer, though.

My final choice may have been influenced by the fact that it was endorsed by Takuya Kimura (my favourite Japanese celebrity since I was 15...), but considering my usual method for choosing consumer electronics: "Does it come in a colour I like?" - I don't think choosing it by which famous person is in the adverts is a bad thing... :P
