I'm enjoying all of y'all's AUs, and I'm very glad to see this one updated! Great way to get Nikola back before the baby's born *and* before Bill and Barry vanish for good. Also a very interesting twist on Lucrezia's sending the Baroness away--good to see Nikola and Zantabraxus still joining forces, despite the very different circumstances. And Jäger soup... oh, dear. :D

Thank you so much! It took a bit of handwaving to make the timing work out, but Nikola's return to the Jägers was kind of irresistible. She did get along grandly with Zantabraxus... might be just as well she didn't learn how to avoid sleeping from her, though. ;)

As much time as they've spent on adventures, Bill and Barry seem likely to be fairly used to eating weird things. Either as polite guests or because there's nothing else around. Between that and being really hungry I think they're beyond being put off by caterpillars right now. :D
