Fall garden?

Sep 07, 2006 09:54

I am wondering.

I live in SE Pennsylvania. I'm thinking of putting in a fall garden. For this area, what's the best time to plant, and what are the best plants for the area? Also, are there any late-season herbs that can take the cold?

Just wondering!

Thank you, and namarie',

Lee

Leafy greens -- Spinich, Kale -- culinary or ornamental and some other crops of the like are cold tolerant. A lot of herbs have a short growing cycle, so you could probably get a crop of parsley or cilantro in -- but I'm not 100% certain about that.

Mums will hold up for quite a while if you would like flowers.
