I keep reading over and over that most Trump voters aren't really racist/sexist/homophobic. I'm terrified right now. For myself as a queer, disabled, Jewish woman. For the undocumented immigrants and the Muslims and other brown people who will be the first and most viciously targeted in the coming wave of violence, both state and personal.
And I watch the news roll on acting as though this is an upsetting/disappointing but perfectly normal result and transition of government and we should just hang in there and vote it out next time.
There is nothing normal about this. The enormity of what happened on Tuesday, I can barely wrap my brain around. What's coming. What's already baked in as coming before the fight even starts. I can't breathe.

"The conditional whiteness of being Jewish" -- I never did think of myself as white -- and I understand about this conditionality thing (and also about the truncated family tree). And I'm not far from you in being targeted by the incoming administration (both queer, Jewish, female).
