so i got a new job.  *woo hoo!*  i'm now the Student Manager to the Building Managers...that means i get to run weekly meetings, hire/fire my staff (that's right, my staff), set my own office hours (that's right, i just said MY office hours) and help to set up and organize the events held in the DUC.  i'll be in training till the end of the ( Read more... )

What’s the “DUC” or the “Building Managers”? I assume it’s working for the University in some way? How many hours? Sounds like you’ll be the Boss-Lady (Boss-Girl?)

Re County Market, I just don’t get these places that hire people (even part-time) and then do the 10 hours-a-week-thing. What are they thinking? Then when people leave they think they’re ungrateful. Kohl’s was like that, wasn’t it?

Pretty (damn) sure I’m glad to hear Tim got a job. I’ll bet that’s a relief. Always helps to be able to pay for a roof over one’s head.

Sounds like all is right in the world!

oh yes, all is definitely right with the world. the DUC is the University Center...so yeah, we're the ones you call when a drunk person decides to go through the fire exit...or you find a homeless person in the stairwell...that sort of thing :-P
