Glee and Madonna

Apr 20, 2010 22:19

No spoilers here.... just want to say that for an episode that has been hyped up to the max... it left a lot to be desired. Lea Michele cannot pull off Madonna's charisma or voice. Plot was ok but the only really interesting things were Jane Lynch and the few bits of singing we got to hear from Glee members who are usually left in the background ( Read more... )

Uh oh. I'm on the west coast so I haven't seen it yet, but this is not what I was hoping to hear. Need to get ahold of the ep stat!

Aww... sorry... I mean it's only one opinion lol I just waited for Michele's voice to really shine but for me personally she couldn't pull it off - and I don't even fangirl Madonna. It's just... there was none of that feirce energy Madonna puts into it. To me, her best performance was "Rain on my parade" cause that one gave me goosebumps :D

It was still a fun episode though :)

Def liked the ep. Lea didn't blow me away until the last number. It was as powerful as the preview clips indicated. It was fun to see the gang brought back together by the music as they usually are, except for last week.

I also really liked Express Yourself but wish they'd had more emphasis on the dancers. That's where the action seemed to be for that song.

My fave songs had to be Kurt/Amber singing and Jane Finch.... but I have to say Naya Rivera was interesting too in "Like a virgin" so I hope we get more of her voice in the future. Honestly, Cory's (Finn's voice) is so weak, why can't they explore other voices too? lol

Hehehe well I'm sure you're not the only one to really enjoy the episode. I think it definitely had its moments too. My only problem is that it didnt live up to the hype for me and Lea Michele doesn't have half the sensuality and power Madonna has in her voice... but she is still a good singer.

I just got my hands on the link to download the episode today, and, well, I wasn't exactly disappointed with it, but it wasn't quite like I expected.
Mostly, I agree with you. Jane Lynch doing "Vogue" just completely blew my mind, as did Chris and Amber's show with the cheerios was really awesome also. The last song was mind blowing, but I think Amber did better than Lea Michele at it...

Lady Gaga's episode will either be better than this or absurdly worst. I'm hoping it's the first, or I might be heartbroken :(

Yessss it's not that I'm disappointed, it was just anticlimactic considering all the advertising and excitement surrounding it.

Vogue was the best part! Chris/Amber were awesome. Did you hear Naya Rivera sing a little bit? You can barely catch it lol Oh Quinn also sung a bit. It's really nice to hear the different voices .

Lady Gaga could end up being a mess, I agree lol Especially since Gaga REALLY has a unique voice that actually IS her music, really.

What should be interesting: isnt Gaga hypersexual in her vids? Lmao I so dont see Glee taking on that much sexuality. I think they're gonna emphasize her weirdness instead.

I heard her, I heard! :D They're all starting to sing more, which is really awesome. The fact that they had just little parts of the songs for themselves was a huge difference from the last chapters.

Also, Heather Morris was hot whenever she was dressed up. I had no idea she was hot like that, actually Naya too, since they're always dressed with cheerios uniforms.

Hmm, it's something to be thought about, the Gaga thing. Because they did use Madonna's bra, and Lady Gaga has a bunch of stuff they could borrow, not just the weirdness.
But the voice part is going to be kind hard, mmhm.
