Matt Smith (the next Doctor) says he's not a Doctor Who fan. This, more than anything, makes me worry about the future of our beloved show. As I have often said: what makes best films/books/television, etc. is when it is made by a fan of his or her material ( Read more... )

Oh dear. This made me a little sad, too. I didn't realize they'd already chosen the next Doctor. I was still hoping in my heart of hearts that David Hewlett had a chance at it. He's such a total Who fan - I think he would have made an amazing Doctor.

Well...I guess we'll see.

CE wasn't a fan. I think he did a fantastic job, but look at the extra energy and love Tennant put in it. (heehee I rhymed)

I've got grievous doubts about this one. He's ridiculously young, for a start and seems just a sop for attracting more little fangirls rather adding to the Who mythos.

Seriously, someone who looks about 12 isn't going to have the gravitas to ensure others let him take charge when he needs to.

I still think Richard O'Brien or Bill Nighy are the men for the job.
