[Well, this is certainly the slightest bit awkward for the woman. It had been a few weeks since the nerd's man's arrival into Somarium, but after avoiding him for so long, it seemed that Naomi may as well step up to get the information she wants out of him. It would be much more prudent to face the issue head on instead of just hoping it will never come up.

Besides, her patience was wearing a little thin as of late.]

Doctor Emmerich. I hope you're adjusting well to the city.

[He didn't expect to be recieving a voice mail from Naomi, actually, it took him by surprise. Terrible anime ringtone.]

Oh, Naomi! Uh, you don't need to call me Doctor Emmerich all the time, just call me Hal.

Somarium was a little strange at first, especially with Snake being young and Liquid being... well, alive... but I think I've figured out all I need to know.

That reminds me! Congratulations on your engagement!

I'm glad to hear that, Hal. Snake must be terribly thrilled to have you back here with him. And I'm sure Sunny is very grateful as well.

[There's the slightest pause before she adds,] And thank you, but I'm afraid that announcement wasn't very truthful. I'm not engaged.

[She holds up her hand just to show off her bare fingers.]

[He can't help feel a little sad, seeing those bare hands. Maybe he should've read that entire announcement properly.] Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. I take it he jumped to conclusions then?

[Upon hearing the knock to the door, he steps outside. Nobody is there, but there is the two presents. He kneels down to investigate.]

Huh? Presents for Sunny and me?... Doesn't look like the sender wants us to know. If you're still here, then thank you very much! Sunny will be really happy!

[He brings them inside. Better hide this under the tree as a surprise for her.]

He's not half as paranoid about these things as Snake is. Besides, it's a Christmas gift, and only a select few people even know he lives here. What does he have to worry about? Though he is wondering why Snake didn't get one...
