This challenge will last until September 30. (I extended the time because I know this is heavy ficathon time for several members. If time is ever an issue for you, let me know in the future.)
Challenge #10: The Empress
The heart of the home, happiness, and creativity.
Traditional Meaning: The Empress is mother and an auspicious card. It embodies the principle of creativity and carries the number three. Her appearance speaks of creating and protecting the earth, your family, and any project you may birth. She is grounded in the earth, embodies its healing properties, and calls you to compassion for yourself and others. She also prepresents pregnancy, safety, comfort, and sympathy. In a spread she can represent a woman with these qualities who can provide good advice, either a married woman, maiden or crone.
Knowing your Authentic Self: This card represents you or another person who provides comfort and sympathy, someone competently ensconced in society, not easily dominated, and/or not overly prone to emotional outbursts. It may signal the incubation of new projects or being a reminder to enjoy life.
Ask: What self-nurturing needs have you neglected to rush to help others?
(remember, --I was thinking about this today--, you can always "reverse" the card to your liking.)
