Making the migration... slowly - help?

The bane of the Mac user's LJ life is the number of reasonably decent posting clients that are out there that eventually develop bugs, but are no longer developed. I've been through XJournal, iJournal, Phoenix and DeepestSender. Blurgh ( Read more... )

Bah, that's what Parallels is for!

(though really, personally I have no interest in doing all my LJing from within Parallels, and you need an Intel-based Mac to run Paralells, but at least it can be done.)

I've been using ecto for a couple of days, and it doesn't post simultaneously either-- plu you end up with a dropdown list of all your blags on one site and it's easy to miss... making hippediva email me to ask why I was posting non-pirate smut to piratgasm! so embarrassing...

In my f-list I just found this link;

which might be a solution for us. I haven't even looked at it yet-- I am off to see now.

I think that's for migrating journal (moving it to another one on Ij, GJ of wherever), not for multiple posting...as I understood through reading superficially...

I've been using MacJournal for years for blogging. It has some quirks, but it gets better and better, and the developer is very responsive. I've asked for several livejournal features and he's done most of them. The only ones he hasn't done require changes to the GUI, and he says that he'll do them in the next major version -- specifically, what I've asked for is the ability to choose icons, which you can't do yet with MacJournal. If you're going to try it, use his latest development version, since it has several LJ improvements I'd asked for. It's available here ( ... )

iJournal works well, but I don't know if it lets you simultaneously post to different sites. I rather think not. If you're prepared to pay a bit of money, there are about three pretty good clients out there that I'll dig up reviews of if you like.
