We will -- natural disasters, temperamental Internet connections, and overly demanding jobs permitting -- upload two different posts: written works (fanfiction, original fiction, poetry, beta, meta (why not?)); and non-written (artwork, podcasts, vids, etc.).
Offer by commenting on the appropriate post, using the forms which will be provided. In your subject line include Offer: item (fandom/specifics). Explain more precisely what you'd like to offer inside the form, word count if appropriate, fandom, pairing, etc. Everyone will be given until April 11 to deliver, so plan your offer with that in mind. If you need more time -- for example, if you've an essay due on the 20th worth 60% of your grade in Philosophy -- put a note in there that you will deliver on a later date, but try to be specific. You'll have until next week (March 14 by our reckoning) to offer something.
Bids are made, beginning March 14 by commenting (Bid) on the offer. There is a minimum bid of $AUD5 (see note below) and bids can go up by as little as $1. Don't delete your bid, or a comment containing bids, contact one of the mods instead.
Bidding ends on 22 March (only because the 20th is Purim).
Winners will be notified by one of the mods. At that time the winner can donate to one of the charities listed on the right (also
here), or if there is another charity that we've missed then discuss the option with the person whose offer you've won and once agreed upon, donate to your heart's content.
Provide confirmation of the donation (if you need, we can explain how to do that), so that the creating can begin.
Creations are then posted by the recipient, who will post us a link (hopefully). Which will be followed by ubiquitous oohs and ahhs and thank-yous.
TIMELINE REITERATION:
- 6 March Offer posts appear by magic
- 14 March offers close and bidding begins
- 22 March bidding closes
- 11 April works due
*Currency -- not to be snotty, but the bidding is in Australian dollars for two reasons: 1) Australian charities are going to take $AUD and 2) although it's fluctuating, the AUD is these days at parity with the USD and stronger than the rest of 'em. If you want to know how much more out of pocket you'll be, there will be two links in the charities' post.
