McKay hated weddings. Well, okay.. it wasn't that he hated them, he just never knew what to say or do at them. And, the fact that it was one person that liked him marrying someone who he really didn't get along with, it made it all the more tricky. Couple that with the sinking knowledge that everyone starts talking about 'how nice it was', which invariably always led to 'they looked so happy', and ended with 'can we set a date' regardless of how serious or not- the couple in question was, and...
As a result, he ended up sitting.. not unlike a bump on a log, giving a closed, tight-lipped smile to any who might try to engage in the shallowest of amenities with the scientist. He was pretty sure Martha understood, and for a moment, actually smiled at the thought.
See, now.. Rodney caught himself. This was exactly why weddings were bad!
For Martha, the past week had been like a merry holiday. Sure, she understood that they were stuck here, all of them, and she and the Doctor without the TARDIS, but the lack of death threats and running for her life made it more of a holiday than anything else. Added bonus was the tropical sun and surf, and the unexpected blossoming relationship with Rodney
