My Top 10 Favourite Madonna Onstage Costumes
I think the title is self-explanatory-- my favourite costumes Madonna has worn onstage throughout her tours over the years. Enjoy.
#10. The Reinvention Tour:
It was a simple costume for M, but I just loved it. Maybe it was the Scottish heritage in me that made me full of pride, especially with the lovely rendition of Susan McLeod before Get Into The Groove. It was just fun, and so awesome IMO.
#9. Who's That Girl Tour:
I LOVE Madonna in a dress. She doesn't wear them often enough on stage anymore which makes me nostalgic for the old days such as the WTGT where she wore them all throughout the show. The red number which was used for the final act was my favourite of the tour. Red suits M, also.
#8. The Virgin Tour:
An odd choice I know but I personally believe this little number above wraps up what Madonna was all about in the early years of her career. Fun, daring, rebellious & unique. I loved every outfit choice she made for her first tour, but more so this one. Plus, doesn't it just scream "made in the1980s?" And who doesn't love the whacky fashion of the 80s?
#7. Sticky & Sweet Tour:
My favourite costume of her most recent tour. I love the colours and how much freedom it gives Madonna to dance, party, go crazy & have fun in one of the best acts of the show.
#6. The Girlie Show:
How could anyone not love this? Madonna goes back in time to the 1970's in style. Being lowered onto the stage by a disco-ball, sporting a funky 'fro, and dressed from head-to-toe in 1970s disco gear. Love it!
#5. The Reinvention Tour:
Really don't know what I loved about this costume-- but I just do. Probably just cos it seems to suit Madonna really well... and then there's the whole looking good in red thing again.
#4. The Confessions Tour:
It's no secret my favourite tour is The Confessions Tour. If I could, every single costume change would be on this list, but I have some self control & limited my choices down as best I could. Music Inferno was one of my favourite numbers of the show. Was so much fun, so creative, and just so EPIC. This is as close as it's get to a perfect performance.
#3. The Virgin Tour:
It would be a crime for a Madonna fan to leave this one out. Probably one of her most recognised trademarks and how the rebellion which made her career all began. The famous wedding dress at the 1984 VMA's and at The Virgin Tour started it all.
#2. Blond Ambition Tour:
I LOVE the cone bra's. Madonna has always loved to push buttons, be provocative and shock people and this certainly did it. And what better number to show it world whilst during Express Yourself-- which FYI is amazing. If you haven't seen it yet, go YouTube it. My favourite version of the song by far.
#1. The Confessions Tour:
At 48 years of age, Madonna proved she still looks as hot, fierce & fit as ever in this daring costume for Hung Up. It really makes you think of the phrase: "If you've got, flaunt it." And she does! You go, M.
