As the students might notice, Max was missing this morning from the class room. As was, thankfully, his alligator footrest. Instead, Fiona stood at the head of the class, notes in her hand as she watched the others enter the room.
"Max couldn't be here today, as you might have guessed from his absence," she said once they were all in. She walked over to the door of the room and closed the door.
"He did, however, leave me in charge of an activity he designed. Specifically, we'll be learning distraction. Since there are generally fewer supervisors than those being supervised, a useful tactic involves having some people distract the supervisor from trying to ensure that their stupid orders are followed, while others get real work done."
She looked out through the class and lifted her head.
"He gave me pre-arranged groups, so don't worry about finding friends to work with. Please enter the groups of three, dividing into two workers and one manager. Your task? Solve
these" which she placed on the teacher's desk in neat rows "while the manager will try and bother you about unimportant things. Your objective is to solve the puzzle before the class is over."
