Dec 30, 2011 02:21

Okay, so it wasn't exactly springtime in Fandom - heck, it wasn't even 2012 yet - but it was still time for the spring welcome picnic. Topher had not signed up for this big sibling thing. He didn't want to be a big sibling.

So he scribbled "TOPHER" on a nametag and went about his business. If someone absolutely had to talk to him (probably expecting a Christopher), they could track him down.

But what if his little sibling was hot and slightly easy? That totally made it better, right?

Stacey had been going around looking at nametags, trying to find her big sibling, and there was this particular nametag. And she was trying not to judge too badly the hair attached to the person attached to this particular nametag.

"Hi," she said. "I think you're my big brother."

The hair was awesome, Stacey, don't lie.

"Lucky you," Topher said, which was just laughable, really. "I think you'll find this a very rewarding experience."

Spoilers: Nope. Nope, she would not.

"Well that's... something they should have put in the brochure," she said. "So what does a big brother do here?"

"No clue." Topher flopped down into a chair at a nearby table, gesturing for Stacey to follow. "I guess I'm supposed to tell you about things?"

See how helpful he was?

Stacey followed away. She did that with boys, even boys with bad hair.

It was bad, Topher. It was.

"What kinds of things?"

"I did kind of figure that." Maybe he was slow? Or messing with her.

"And... oh, yeah, sometimes weird stuff happens." He pointed off in the general direction of the new baby island. "That? New. This lawn? Bigger lately. And two weeks ago there were penguins."

Or maybe he'd just had a stroke.

"Um. What?" she asked eloquently.

"I know what a penguin is. Why did we have them?" Was there a zoo here?

"Because everyone else is really lucky and I should never have gone to Naboo," Topher grumbled.

He really liked penguins, okay?

"Other planet," Topher shared helpfully. "It's near Erep."

Thank you, research skills.

Riiiight. "I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be taking this seriously," Stacey said.
