Please excuse Raven staring straight ahead, eyes like a deer in the headlights.
No she would not be changing into a more comfortable shape, thank you very much. Blending in was a very, very hard habit to break.
"Raven Darkholme," she said, rather a bit on the quiet side. "And, uh."
Look, she didn't want to outright lie to the teacher, especially when he was trying to get them to rock some mutant -- okay, monster -- pride, but, well, she was terrified. So that sentence just straight up stalled out into open mouthed silence.

"Raven! That's a lovely name, child. And so traditional; it's pleasant to hear." Drac beamed at her. She seemed nervous. Perhaps she had heard of him? He was the Count Dracula, after all. "And what type of monster are you? Vampire, perhaps? Is there something you'd like us to know about you, to better understand you?"
Raven, still doing the whole wide-eyed stare thing, opened her mouth to deny everything -- and ended up singing instead.
"I change shapes just to hide in this place, But I'm still, I'm still an animal, Nobody knows it but me when I slip, Yeah, I slip, I'm still an animal."
She let out a squawk at the end of the phrase, her panic causing her concentration to slip. Her eyes went gold, a few streaks of red appearing in her hair, and one hand flicked back and forth between pale pink and dark blue as she clapped it over her mouth.
And then she was bolting, up, out of her seat, and out the door. Losing her grip and going blue in the middle of class almost never went well, after all.

Drac had started out being confused by the song lyrics, but when the young girl, obviously distressed, fled from the room, all of Drac's fatherly instincts went into gear and he sped out the door after her.
He'll be back... Uhm. This is what TAs are for, yes?

Just let Mavis get down off the desk and stop being confused about basically everything, and she'd get right on that.
"Um." Hand. Doorway. Uh. "After these messages....he'll be riiiiight back!"
Weird. Still no autotune.
