The Salle, Monday Afternoon

There was really only so much Ada could practice hitting the little target in her room over and over. Hell, by now she could do it with her eyes closed. Which was going to make a great bit when she was back with the carnival, but wasn't so good in a practical fight ( Read more... )

Crazy Apple had been doing most of the work of getting back into fighting shape out around the warehouses that were her (and Ringo's) usual haunt, but there were some skills that were both harder to do outdoors, and harder to do without targets shaped the right way.

"Huh. Didn't think people really used this place," she mused aloud as she shrugged and stepped inside.

"Some of us don't got flyin' skates t' get a work-out," Ada pointed out, arm moving fluidly to slide a knife up and into the dummy between where the ribs would be on another person. "So, salle."

She stepped back to wipe her hair out of her eyes and examine her placement before turning to face Ringo and... squinting, slightly. There was something off about how she was holding herself, but nothing Ada could really place.

"'M surprised t' find you inside."

Crazy Apple was both less energetic, and more confident, than Ringo, and there were a couple of subtle shifts in her body language that went along with that. And the one-shouldered shrug she gave Ada was a little too nonchalant for Ringo, too.

"Hey, Ada." That same shrug again.

"Some things you can't do outdoors as well." Her eyes swept across the dummy. "Huh." She hadn't known Ada could do that. Not bad.

There was a distinct lack of bouncing, and it was... kinda disconcerting. Looking at her almost hurt.

She followed Ringo's gaze back to her dummy. "That 'huh' b'cause you didn't see me as a blades-person, or 'cause you didn't think 'm that type of girl?"
