Public: November Town Meeting

Nov 10, 2005 06:43

"Can everyone hear me?" Nimori tapped the microphone and sent a squeal of feedback through the room. "Sorry, sorry. Welcome to Fandomopolis's first town meeting!" She beamed at the crowded, or at least moderately not-empty, hall. "There's tea, coffee, and coloured water juice at the back. I'm pleased to see so many new faces in our city, and I hope ( Read more... )

Cor threw her hand in the air in a fantastically Granger-esque way, and was already speaking as Nimori acknowledged her. "I'd like to please volunteer to run The Inquisitionator. I've many slanderous.... err, creative skills that I would be more than pleased to put to good use. Err- for the good of the community, of course."

"Yes, you in the back." Nimori pointed to Cor. "The Inquisitionator can use someone with your... enthusiasm. Head on down to fandomcitynews for more information."

Hibi bit her lip. She had no prior experience in the field of journalism, but she was highly interested.

Nervously, she walked up to Nimori and said, "Um, hullo. I'm interested in a position in either The Fandomopolis Times or The Inquisitionator. I haven't got any prior experience, but what I lack in that department I'll more than make up for in enthusiasm and creativity! What say you?"

Hibiscus smiled her most winningest smile. :D

Too many people were giving her dazzling smiles! Nimori felt quite dizzy. "No experience necessary, Hibi -- they'll train you. Both papers are having a meet-and-greet session at fandomcitynews, at Up-To-No-Good and Main. Security'll let you right in."

f took a long drag of her cigarette and frowned. She'd been nominated for mayor? bbq? "I'm afraid my affinity for -- hm -- disobedience would make me a piss-poor authority figure," she said to Nimori. "Much as I'm flattered by the confidence of whoever chose to nominate me, I must decline the nomination."

She fished out a can of Red Bull from the pocket of her trench coat and popped it open. "I wouldn't mind covering the city's criminal activity for the Fandomopolis Times, however." She decided it would be in poor taste to add that she would not be above instigating criminal activity should there be a dry spell in the news.

Nimori coughed. The last thing the city needed was a disobedient mayor! How on earth was Nimori supposed to embezzle enough money to move to Rio Fandomera and live a life of luxury if the mayor wouldn't do exactly as she said?

"Yes, I think your talents would be better utilized at the Times," Nimori said, nodding quickly. "If you head on over to fandomcitynews you can find out more about the paper."

"What a fabulous idea! Fandomopolis couldn't certainly use a television station." Nimori grinned. "Are you volunteering to host the show?"

Nimori tried to catch Frog, but she kept slipping out of reach. "If you go to -- careful! -- fandomcitynews, they'll get you started."
