Random spot in the Preserve: Monday afternoon

Oct 30, 2007 05:57

A seed sprouted, sent out green tendrils to wrap around the nearest tree, strangling it, thrust roots deep down into the earth as leaves popped into existence and unfurled, while a tiny orange pod began to grow.

Soon, very soon, in a matter of minutes, in fact, there was a luscious green vine, leaves waving gently as they framed one perfect, gleaming, orange pumpkin.

It was, to all appearances, the perfect Halloween pumpkin.

Tempting, isn't it?
