How very embarrassing, to find one's self tired today in such odd little bursts. Leland Gaunt was more amused than displeased to discover that the vagaries of this island might apply to him; it was a curiosity, nothing more. In any regard, his shop was open, and he had such lovely trinkets to sell.

Hunh. Looked like the place had a new owner.
She wandered in with her shades on, checking out the merchandise, and keeping an eye out for anything worth... acquiring.

"Something like this, you'd want something cool in exchange... why don't you want to keep it for yourself?"

Kenzi bit her lip, and tried to take a step back. She managed a tiny sideways shuffle, but her eyes stayed fixed on the Shiny.
"I don't have anything now to trade that would be worth this," she said. "But I could get you something, if you give me an idea of what to look for."

He held it up for her to eye for a few moments more, for her to commit to memory if she so cared to, and then he closed his hand around it, concealing it from view.

"Don't worry. You keep your end of the deal, and I'll keep mine."

Leland smiled at her, warm and open, as he made his way back to put the ring away, where it was no longer in sight of any incoming customers.
"It's been a pleasure doing business with you."
