The rest of our final week in NY was relatively uneventful.  The movers loaded all our stuff up on the truck the next day and later that evening someone came to pick up our cars.  We spent the two days after that giving

I had known most of what you went through but reading it was quite troubling. I'm so glad you made it safe and (not quite) sound. It's so good to have you in the same time zone. Let's hope you never have to go through this kind of thing again.

Fortunately, you guys are within reasonable driving distance now so hopefully I won't have to fly again for a long time.

Me too. And things are finally starting to settle down. I almost don't know what to do now that I'm not constantly in crisis mode. ;)

The whole two days made me want to scream. And cry. Actually, I did a lot of crying. Thank goodness it's all just a memory now!
