You may have reduced an adult woman (me) to squealing loudly. I actually hopped in my seat when I saw you wrote fic. This is the perfect pitch of sweet and adorable. And I really want to hug it in a visegrip. He baked! I love Jeff being vulnerable and Annie not realizing what has happening until she does. And Jeff paid the rest of the study group off. Awww. You really captured the layers of their dynamic.

And I laughed at this so much. The moment is sort of ruined when Troy sends a text that says “um so britta says not 2 put out, where r u? pls bring home taco bell NO HOT SAUCE”.

BEAUTIFUL, seriously. You got me feeling so silly and giddy and genuinely looking forward to their date and communication and everything, and your Jeff is a thing of beauty, really <3

He's just, he's really interested in no longer being that jerk who leads her on. He wants to be that jerk who holds her hand and kisses her mouth and promises to sometimes not be a jerk.

Beautiful.

In love with this whole thing. Annie's gradual realization was great, and Jeff was just adorable.

I just want to... I think marry this. Yeah, that's it. I'm marrying this fic AND NO ONE IS GOING TO STOP ME.

You have this AMAZING knack for humor that's subtle but hilarious and so completely in-character. It's very stream-of-thought (which I love and can never master) and you just do it so well that I can't even begin to articulate how excited I was to see a new story from you!

However, there may/may not have been a fist pump or two once he was sure she was out of earshot.

THAT IS SO COMPLETELY JEFF WINGER. And I love the fact that he was kind of a nervous teenage boy because I think that's exactly how their first date would go (even if Annie DID anticipate it, and I think it's hilarious that she had no idea). I also loved the twist that he paid the rest of the group to not show up. :)

Just perfect. Thanks for kicking my morning off right!

I think I might have squealed a little on the train ride into work this morning when I saw you had a new fic, and as usual, this didn't disappoint.

You do a fabulous job establishing the mood of this, from Jeff's nervous anticipation, to the tense silence when Annie first arrives, to the perfect blend of sweet and hot at the end. I've mentioned in comments to previous works that I absolutely love your way with language, very natural and very evocative.

He's just, he's really interested in no longer being that jerk who leads her on. He wants to be that jerk who holds her hand and kisses her mouth and promises to sometimes not be a jerk.

I melted a little at that line. It's so earnest, and honestly, this is how I imagine Jeff would be once he completely lets his guard down.

She hears what sounds like “fuck it, it’s done” and hides another smile behind her wine glass. It's little details like this that give your stories such emotional weight. Their entire exchange in the kitchen felt so REAL, and Jeff's expletive at the end ( ... )
