He really had no idea why he was there. He was already mad enough to tear apart any vampire who dared get in his way as Phoenix left Viktor’s study.

“¡Absurdo, amor pulsado, húngaro arrogante obstinado!” (Foolish, love struck, stubborn arrogant Hungarian!) The Spaniard fumed all the way down to the gardens, he needed some fresh air to clear his head before he confronted the elder with his ‘advice’.

”Phoenix”
The fact the man had used his Name should have alerted him that the man was up to something.

”I need your advice upon a - delicate - matter.”
Phoenix had not been back to the Mansion since the last temperamental and heated fall out between himself and Viktor not to mention he had endured his lover’s equal disapproval looks and lecture when he’d told Santiago he was coming to meet with the elder.

“Por favor Juan Carlos, I am his advisor and he has called to me as such.” The noble born had wrapped his arms around the priest’s waist needing to be close to the man. “I must go where I am summoned." he kissed the man's lips before regrettably letting go, "And if only you could have heard his voice.” The last sentence spoken so softly as Phoenix collected his coat before leaving for Ordoghaz. “I will be back and then we will go out, okay mi amante?” he chirped from his car as Santiago followed and Phoenix pulled away before he gave into his lover's will and stayed.

Now he sat in the Elder's study, listening to the man speak wondering at the sad face the blue eyed man had. ”Kraven’s banishment is over and I have, I have brought him home.”

Phoenix all but rolled his eyes, he could care less about the slut vampire. “Is this why you called me?” the noble born stood to pour them both a glass of spiced blood, “To ask what form of ‘welcome home’ gift you should buy him?” Phoenix swirled his drink before sipping at it as he expected the man to scold him but Viktor didn’t say a word, instead moved to the window.

The Spaniard followed standing next to the elder who was looking down upon the gardens. “No I don’t buy trinkets you know this,” he sternly spoke, looking at the noble born before his gaze returned to the gardens below. “Phoenix, Kraven is --” the man took a sip of the blood followed by an unstable draw of breath.

“He is what?” Phoenix couldn’t recall the man having appeared this upset before as he laid a reassuring hand to the elder’s arm feeling the slight tremble. “Tell me mi amigo.”

“He’s a mortal again.”

The vampire drew back, looking confused before shaking his head. “That is impossible, Viktor you must be mistaken, vampires cannot become mort...”

“He IS human!” the elder finally snapped turning hard eyes at the younger vampire before they softened. “and he’s dying Phoenix.” The Spaniard saw the pain in his lover’s eyes as they drifted back to the gardens below. “He was attacked and bitten by a lycan at the start of his banishment. It didn’t kill him as it should have,” the elder gave a hard laugh. “Or should I say, it is killing him only it has taken these last thirty years to do so. He doesn’t deserve this Phoenix, he has suffered enough, he --“

The noble born stiffened as he automatically snapped. “He will never suffer enough for his crimes!”

The slap to his face hurt his pride more than anything as Phoenix rubbed his cheek and scrowled at enraged blue eyes. “I Need Him! He is MY mate and I won’t loose him! A filthy lycan poisoned him and now I am going loose him unless,”

It finally dawned on Phoenix what the man was thinking as he too looked to the gardens searching for the trouble maker. “No! Viktor No! If he has been poisoned! NO! You are Our Elder! You can not turn him!” the Spaniard began to pace, his heels clicking against the hard wood floor. “Command a lesser vampire to do it, But Not You!” Phoenix returned to the man's side, his anger growing with each passing second. “What does it matter who tries to turn him so long as it works, yes?! And if it doesn’t then we have not lost our Elder. Por favor, let another be the guinea pig, Viktor the coven needs you! I need you! Don’t do this.”

“I need him strong. As strong as he was the first time I turned him, I won’t allow a lesser and weaker vampire make him equally if not weaker! I owe it to him.”

“I can not believe my ears, You owe him nothing!”

“Damn your cold heart Phoenix! I failed him! Because I allowed the council to pass that sentence upon him and banished him! Cast him out, left him alone, without any way to protect him self, because I didn’t stand up for him then I failed to protect him, I abandoned him and now I am loosing him again! He is my Mate and I failed him!”

Phoenix's shoulders sagged, there was no reasoning with the man, not with so many emotions clouding his judgment. Phoenix took the man’s face between his hands, forcing him to look away from the gardens. “Viktor,” he shook his head, “let him go, his time has come.”

“What wouldn’t you do Phoenix to save your Santiago.” The older vampire finally spoke, a sad smile upon his face. “I will do this, with or without your approval. I had simply hoped for your understanding.”

Phoenix hated such logical advantages, damn the man! What wouldn’t he do if it were Santiago’s life in danger. He pressed a light kiss to the man’s lips, forcing a smile. “Bien, let me think for a while.” He let go of the man. “I will be back, I just need to think. Don’t do anything you will regret later, okay? I swear Viktor we will find a way to save your mate.”

“Thank you Phoenix.” Were the last words the Spaniard heard before he left the man’s study and stormed his way outside. Walking a quick and clipped pace and revaluated exactly what he was doing which was saving the slut vampire, no not even a vampire! A mortal! Which was the very last thing Phoenix wanted to do as he still quietly swore under his breath and kept walking not paying attention to where he was going until a scent all but brought him to an abrupt halt. The vampire snarled, he was not used to the smell of a human at the mansion as he followed it, that’s when he heard the coughing.

The vampire frowned when he saw him and Phoenix could only stare at the aged mortal; at the silver and black hair, the obviously wasted body that had once been an almost too perfect Adonis build. He frowned at the shaking hands, the sunken features, the lack luster eyes, the horrible sounds Kraven made as he tried to breathe after the coughing stopped and he sat barely holding himself up right upon a bench.

“W-who is there.” A raspy voice called out.

Phoenix pushed his way through the trees, even the man’s voice was different as he approached the former vampire regent.

“Phoenix!” Was the huffed word followed by a harsh barking laugh that ended in more coughing. “How pleased you must be.” The mortal smiled tightly, still holding his chest. “You finally have your wish,” he weakly gestured towards the house. “I won’t be in anyone’s way soon enough.” Kraven clenched and unclenched his teeth as he looked down before staring the vampire in the eyes, “Promise you will watch after him." he swallowed hard before glacning away from the noble born.

He silenlty observed Kraven watch him from lowered eyes, seeing self doubt and hurt in those human eyes before he nervously looked away time and again as the vampire just stood rock still looking down upon the human; this sick and weak mortal who once ruled the vampires in the Elder’s name; who once was the envy of every socialite power seeking vampire of the covens and, who’d stolen Phoenix's first love from him.

The Spaniard cocked his head still thinking, then again if it hadn’t been for Kraven taking Viktor’s heart, the noble born wouldn’t have found Santiago. Wouldn’t have what he shared with his priest as he glanced back to the mansion, searching for the Elder’s window, wondering if the man was looking outside once more.

“What wouldn’t I do.” The noble born softly spoke as he reached for the mortal’s arm, feeling the thin and shaking limb under his grasp as he pulled the man to his feet.

“P-phoenix?!” Kraven blinked nervously at the vampire, the scent of fear rolling off him as he feebly tried to pull away.

“Shhhhhh,” the vampire cooed as he easily slipped his arm around the weak mortal, pulling him close, embracing him as he’d done to countless victims before. Tilting his head, “No esté asustado.” (Do not be afraid) the vampire cooed in his sing-song voice clutching the shaking mortal in his arms, “Si esto trabaja, entonces habré redimido a mi uno mismo antes de Viktor y si no, entonces nos librarán de uno otro de una vez por todas.” (If this works, then I will have redeemed my self before Viktor and if not, then we will be rid of one another once and for all.) the Spaniard smiled before he sank his fangs into Kraven’s neck.

“Phoenix!”

It didn’t take long for the Spaniard to drain the man, how he wanted to finish off the troublesome brat! But he forced himself to stop as he wiped his lips off after he let go of Kraven. The mortal’s blood was indeed tainted, Phoenix tasted the tinge of sickness, nothing he hadn’t endured before from spoiled blood as he spat to clear his mouth. The vampire bent and watched Kraven die then waited with held breath for the change.

“Come on you spoiled brat! I won’t have a sorrow filled elder because of you!” he reached to shake the dead mortal. “You are strong! Viktor chose you so you Must be strong, now change!” he snarled as more time slipped by. “Don’t you dare make a liar of me NOW CHANGE DAMN YOU!” the Spaniard slapped the man then almost whooped for joy when Kraven’s body jerked and the man took the first shuddering breath of the undead.

Phoenix gave a deep breath of relief as well as he sent a pray to Mother Spain while smiling towards the Mansion. “I can not believe the things I do for you my arrogant Hungarian.” He muttered under his breath as he reached down and easily picked up the still frail fledgling and carried him back to the Mansion.
