There where things he didn’t like to think about. Most of them started with What if? Because when he started down that track he found he never normally could stop. For example: What if he hadn’t quit Grace Brothers? What if he hadn’t had that fight with Mr Humphries that day? What if he actually stepped into the building and see what would happen?

They just started and they wouldn’t stop. He would get on a role and most of them would be about Grace Brothers. There where other questions that he would think of that he didn’t know if he wanted to know the answer. Like what if Shirley had said yes to him and they had gone out? What if Mr Humphries and Mrs Slocombe went out? What was happening in the store right now?

That one made his brain hurt the most. He knew that almost anything could happen in that store- because almost everything had. He just craved the excitement of the store and so he imagined the what if’s?

The store he was working at now wasn’t the same as Grace Brothers. Nothing ever would be so he would think up anything and everything he could do. He had to otherwise he didn’t know what he would do.

What if’s may be addicting but they where fun and it was one way he could connect with his ex co-workers even if they didn’t realise that was what he was doing. Playing with there lives, thinking up the most insane stories. Not knowing that some of them where possibly true.

Title: Is he or isn’t he?
Fandom: Are You Being Served?
Characters: Mr Humphries
Prompt: He
Word Count: 259
Rating: PG
Summery: Well is he or isn’t he?

Was he or wasn’t he? So many people asked him that and he always avoided the answer. Because for one thing: He didn’t truly know himself. He always liked to think he was but then something would throw him completely off course and make him believe that he wasn’t. He did know one thing though: He wasn’t like normal people.

He sighed as he sat down to the lunch table. He was the first one there on that particular day. He waited for the others to join them as thought about the questions. He barely said a word as the other staff members sat down one by one, knowing that once again he was getting odd looks around the table.

“Mr Humphries are you alright?” A voice asked and he looked up, surprised. Mrs Slocombe looked at him concerned. She was one of the main reasons why he was confused. The other reason was sitting right next to him.

“I’m fine why do you ask?”

“Because you’ve been pushing your food around your plate for the last five minutes that’s why” Mr Lucas said from beside him. Yes he had a crush on both of them and yet he never advanced. Sure he flirted from time to time but that was the one thing that kept him confused. It was his job that kept him from saying anything.

“Just been wondering whether or not I want to eat this after all” He finally said with carefully practiced cheer. Guess he would have to figure this one out another time.
