Viktor simply stared at the man.
The elder was in shock as he stared down at the lifeless vampire. The dead immortal.
He leaned down and touched the once ageless features. Gently caressed the dead flesh. He’d known this man.
Intimately.
He’d spared his life probably a dozen times already, but now he was dead.
Viktor brushed back the still shiny blue/black hair from the fair features. Features that still held the faint traces of shock and hurt before easing into the timeless mask of death.
The elder’s features softened as he recalled the passion they once shared, the good times, the laughter.
But it was all gone now.
Gone in one desperate and emotional filled decision as Viktor pulled his great sword from Kraven’s chest and stood to look at Lucian.
Grief was beginning to settle in the elder’s heart, his soul a battle ground over his new found lover and his murdered mate.
Viktor had killed Kraven because the boy was going to kill Lucian. The elder took a step back, he needed room, needed time to comprehend what he’d just done.
All he could do was gaze at the lycan leader, trying to justify having just struck his mate down with his own weapon. He took a breath realizing he’d been holding it.
Lucian had in the long ago past saved Viktor’s life countless times when he’d been a guardian to the vampires.
Still it didn’t ease the vampire’s mind as he bent and gathered Kraven’s body, holding him close, as the lifeless fingers let go of the specialized firearm with it’s silver nitrate ammunition.
The gun clattered to the ground coming to rest next to Viktor's discarded sword.
Viktor gazed at Lucian, “You saved my life once. Now we're even." he spoke in an emotionless tone before turning away to take Kraven home.
