They’re not enemies. Rivals, barely. Chester’s band is ten times better than Brad’s. Nu-metal is dead, they spelled their name wrong, and their vocalist can’t sing…they’re just a few reasons why.
Ryan stands backstage watching them play, hands on his hips. “I like Brad’s hair.” He says as Chester comes to stand beside him. Surely the tension in the air tells him to stop talking, but he doesn’t. “He’s a good guitarist, too. Don’t know why he’s with that band, he’s so much better than them.”
“Oh yeah?” Chester says, turning a plectrum over and over between his fingers. “Why don’t you ask him to join us, then?”
Ryan doesn’t say anything, and by the time he has turned from the stage Chester is already gone.
