Summary: Derek Stiles has never hated… before now.
Disclaimer: Obviously I don’t own Trauma Center. Would be cool though.
Notes:In here there are technically spoilers for the Savato operation, “A Devil” (I think it is)… so tread lightly.
Derek had never been one to hate anyone else. Never in his life thus far. But Adam… Adam was a different story. He felt his blood boil when the man’s name was mentioned - he felt angry. How could anyone want to kill other human beings?
He was almost finished the operation on Savato. Another life would be saved. Another life almost taken by those nutcases at Delphi, and their creation, GUILT.
Derek watched the spider-like virus zip around the patient’s heart. Activating his Healing Touch, he drew a star, then a second one. Savato froze, and Derek injected it with the serum that would destroy it. Savato zipped around the heart then, popping, until it finally broke into pieces and dissolved.
“Chiral reaction is negative!” Angie sighed, relieved. Derek sutured the incision and looked out of the window of the Delphi lab.
“Doctor?” Angie spoke again, looking at Derek.
“Yes, Angie?”
“Are you okay?” she asked, concerned. Derek paused, before shaking his head.
“Angie... Is it wrong for me to hate Adam? To hate what he’s doing?”
Angie looked surprised. “I don’t think it’s wrong. I don’t like what Adam’s doing either. Just don’t let your hate for what he’s doing get in the way of your patients’ health.”
“Thank you, Angie.” Derek nodded.
For now he’d have to put his hate aside. There were more important things.
