Count Pages is a very useful plugin that will with a click of a button count the pages in a mobi/epug file and tell you how many words are in the story

The main one that may be of interest that I haven't tried is the fanfiction downloader plugin. The rest of what I use are custom columns for pairings, ratings, warnings, fandoms, and challenges.
There is also a reading list plugin that may be good for sorting out what to read first.
This sounds great but where does it list the word count - as a column in calibre or does it put it somewhere where you can easily see it in your ereader? (I mean yes you get the ..... to show you length on my kindle but that's a very imprecise tally just showing me if it's incredibly long or shorter XD)
I am all for finding things to make Calibre more user friendly for fanfic reading!
You need to create two custom columns, one for the page count and one for the word count. Or you can just do one custom column depending on which you one you'd prefer. I didn't bother with page count...It sadly does not display on the ebook device but it's great for finding longer fics within Calibre.
I have custom columns for fandom, pairings, warnings, read/not read, length, now word count, challenges story came from, and if there are graphics in the story.
As for the Kindle...you are not the first to mention the pages not being very accurate. I don't know much about it enough to offer advice because the Sony displays something like page "5 of 50 pages." It doesn't do ranges.
